Remotely Shutdown a Computer

Posted by Owner Saturday, November 14, 2009

So you want to take revenge on your friend, but don't know how? Just today I watched a video on Youtube about how to remotely shutdown a computer using Command prompt. I've looked into this before, but never really tried it out. This is for PCs only, so sorry you Mac users.

The gist of it is basically you:

1. Press the Start Button on your Taskbar
2. Open 'Run'

3. Type in 'shutdown -i' (without the quotes) into the dialog box

4. Another window will open looking like this.

5a. You can add the computer IP address you want to take revenge on here. You don't know how to get your friends IP address? Check this post (coming soon).
5b. You can choose Shutdown, Restart, or Annotate Unexpected Shutdown. The last one, I think, would produce the funniest results!
5c. Want to leave your friend a message? Do so here.

Hopefully this guide has made it possible for you to take revenge on your friend!
Still don't understand how this works? Leave me or comment or choose a video on Youtube!
