Use Your Wiimote as a Cursor

Posted by Owner Saturday, November 14, 2009 0 comments

Need more interactivity with your computer? My brother told me about using a Wiimote to direct the cursor on a PC a while back, so I thought I'd look into it a bit further. Basically, the Wiimote uses Bluetooth to connect and send information to the Wii, but people have been able to harness the capabilities of the Wiimote and incorporate them into computers, to control the mouse cursor. So I searched around, and found this cool article on Instructables, a great site for DIY guides to almost anything. You can find that guide to using a Wiimote with you PC here. Just to show you a bit about using a Wiimote with your PC, check out the video below.

You can find the original video here.

So you want to take revenge on your friend, but don't know how? Just today I watched a video on Youtube about how to remotely shutdown a computer using Command prompt. I've looked into this before, but never really tried it out. This is for PCs only, so sorry you Mac users.

The gist of it is basically you:

1. Press the Start Button on your Taskbar
2. Open 'Run'

3. Type in 'shutdown -i' (without the quotes) into the dialog box

4. Another window will open looking like this.

5a. You can add the computer IP address you want to take revenge on here. You don't know how to get your friends IP address? Check this post (coming soon).
5b. You can choose Shutdown, Restart, or Annotate Unexpected Shutdown. The last one, I think, would produce the funniest results!
5c. Want to leave your friend a message? Do so here.

Hopefully this guide has made it possible for you to take revenge on your friend!
Still don't understand how this works? Leave me or comment or choose a video on Youtube!

Forgot Your Administrator Username Password?

Posted by Owner Friday, November 13, 2009 0 comments

So, you haven't used your computer in a while, and you totally forgot your main username's password. Good thing you can just log into the Administrator account and change your password there, but you happened to have forgotten that password too! If you think you've run out of options, you've come to the right place.
Today I watched a video on Youtube on how to reset your Administrator password when all else fails. This video helps to explain how you can reset your Administrator password on your computer, allowing you access to change any username password on your computer. In the video, Windows Vista was used, but I believe you can use Trinity Rescue Kit 3.3 with Windows XP too, although I'm no 100% sure about Windows 7.

Enjoy the video, and the obnoxious Tetris Techno remix song. ;)

You can check out the original video here.

You can get the Trinity Rescure Kit 3.3 from here.

You can burn the .iso file that you download with ImgBurn which you can download
here.

To enable Boot-To-CD/DVD options in BIOS, go here
here.

The version used in this video was 3.3 build 321.

This video was not created by myself, it was created by mossmatt on Youtube.
